Criminal Background Checks And Teachers

Imagine this. You have a son and daughter at school. And they are beginning the new school year with excitement. You send them off with their bags packed and they race out the door. Then your mind starts playing tricks on you. You see, you know they have friends at school, but the new teacher. Is he or she really "good character".

Your heart starts to race a little. You see, your child is about to spend the next year with this person. Someone you hardly know.

Now, you probably know that teachers have to get criminal background checks when they first apply for a teaching position. That's just standard and all. You see, without this they can't teach.

But there's a problem. You see, they don't need a criminal backgrounds check after that. So what happens when a teacher has worked for 3, 4, 10 years or more. You think that they don't need a criminal background check done because they are the same people as when they first started?

Well, in Vancouver, new laws will require teachers to have criminal background checks done every 5 years. Which is good to know for people like you and me. But why then would the teachers be fighting this? You see, the teachers have had meetings to stop this law from passing. And the reason why is because they think criminal background checks don't work. And they are useless too.

You know, parents should ask for more protection in schools. Especially when a person they hardly know is going to be teaching their child.

Anyway, at the moment, there are a number of schools where you don't need to do criminal background checks on a regular basis. So what is your childrens teacher really like?

Anyway, if you want to do a criminal background check on a teacher, have a look at Government Records.
